SHAE Quotes:

"You have to believe what you are saying for the Casting Director, Producer, Director etc. to believe and enjoy along with you. Know why you are saying what your character is conveying in the material.

Be consistent throughout your read. If you make a mistake keep going unless asked to start over. Make us remember you with the real qualities of you and understanding your character. Stay in the moment, be a good listener.

Find and know the most interesting aspects of who you are.

Travel, live adventures, experience life whenever possible and be observant of all aspects and people.

Be interested and passionate about what you enjoy.

Don’t compare yourself to anyone; run your own race with yourself.

Do something for your career each day; watch a film, take a class, watch a commercial, read sides, anything that will keep you immersed and ready to adapt when you get opportunities to audition.

Don’t take short cuts when it comes to your headshots, reels etc. Make them great and memorable."

“True star quality is unique and distinctive, a degree of excellence, allure and charm. It’s a luminary characteristic an actor is gifted with, a ‘magic’ that sets her/him apart, to an exclusive echelon of celebrity. Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Elvis, Marlon Brando, all possessed an infectious appeal that kept us fascinated and wanting more. Exceptional actors today  re-invent themselves for each role, its exclusive,  distinctive and exciting to watch.

“I look for dedication and commitment to acting which includes a willingness to study. When I am attaching actors, I ask myself, is this someone I would want to watch week after week or for 2 hours in a film? Are they interesting and special? Would they have mass appeal? Sometimes it's charm, energy, instant charisma, you can tell this person is different from the rest. The transformation at auditions and finally onto the screen is a process that is rewarding for everyone when it all comes together.”

“I do hundreds of meetings a year and occasionally I meet someone who has that charismatic, engaging quality. An essence that intrigues and maintains my interest throughout the interview. It’s exclusive, and exceptional. Simply put, “STAR QUALITY”.

“Be enthusiastic, committed, work hard, be persistent and stay determined to be the best you can be. Remember, you are competing with yourself, it is your race. If acting is your dream then dare to do it, be dedicated! Don’t settle for good, strive for Great! Be professional and embrace every opportunity!"
